When both mass loading and volume fraction are very small
(say Φm < 10−3, Φv < 10−2), the back effect of particles on the flow
is typically unimportant, and only the effect of the carrier fluid
on the dynamics of the particles and their dispersion is important.
In this limit, the particle-laden flow is termed “one-way
coupled.”
