Degree of saturation

Description

Soil is the mixture of minerals, organic matter, gases, liquids, and the myriad of organisms that together support plant life. The ratio of the volume of liquid (such as water) to the total volume of voids in a soil is the Degree of Saturation in a porous material (such as soil). Values of Sw can range from 0 (dry) to 1 (saturated).
